What would you do with MORE Abundance?

sun and white capped mountains

Like the clients I work with, I have fought many a battle with scarcity mindset. I work on it and it improves, but then it pops up somewhere else in my life.

Recently I spent some time in my self-coaching practice exploring the question, “Where else in my life do I still have a scarcity mindset?”

I still experience FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) in some areas of my life, not with money (ironically), but with things other than money.

For example, I don’t like to get rid of things because I always think I’ll need it. Of course, that’s totally my scarcity mindset.

Another example is with programs, classes, events; I have signed up for so many of these as a result of FOMO.

I used to have a hard time saying no to opportunities to engage with and build relationships with other people in my community, especially charitable causes. So many times, I overcommitted myself.

There were just so many things I was interested in or wanted to do, it felt impossible to say not to, but it also felt impossible to do all of them once I said yes.

I said yes to those things because of FOMO. FOMO is always an indicator of a scarcity mindset.

It can show up in so many different areas of your life. Money, relationships, time, knowledge, experiences, opportunities to contribute.

When you make decisions from a fear of missing out, you actually do miss out. What you fear, you make reality.

Here’s what I mean.

Think about a program that you sign up and pay for out of fear of missing out on the knowledge or credibility it will give you.

But then maybe you notice that you have a lot of other things that require your attention, perhaps other programs, other commitments, other obligations, other priorities you want to focus on.

Now you’re torn. Do you carve that time out of something else that might be equally or more important? Do you let the program you just signed up for go? Either you cut something else out to make room for this, or you cut this out or you reduce the amount of time from both.

You see? Either way you’re missing out.

Even when you’re engaging in one of the activities, you’re thinking about the other activities that you could be doing. You’re not present in either one and therefore missing out on both.

When you say yes to something, you’re saying no to something else.

What if you could make decisions from a place of abundance, knowing that you will always have exactly what you need?
What if you could make decisions from peace instead of fear?

Then you would never have to miss out on anything ever again. You could be secure in knowing that whatever you need you can get any time you need it.

When you’re secure in your ability to create anything you want any time you want, you no longer need to hold on to what you have out of fear because you can be confident that what you’re saying yes to is as good or better than what you’re saying no to.

What are you saying no to when you’re saying yes out of fear? What are you saying yes to from peace, knowing that you will always have enough?

Say yes to a daily practice that helps you focus on the abundance in your life and business. I created this resource to help me focus on my abundance and I’d love to share it with you.

There’s no such thing as …. THE right thing

Ever been stuck because you just didn’t know the next “right” thing to do?

Have you ever been so intimidated by the world around you that you stood frozen in fear?

Did you ever want to just pretend that you’re fine with whatever happens in your business?

I didn’t post on social media much at all for a couple of months. I even neglected my blog.

And I love writing! I love sharing the insights that light on me like a bluebird on my shoulder.

So why did I just stop, just like that?

I was overwhelmed.

I was tired.

But most of all I was confused.

I thought I didn’t know what to share.

I felt intimidated because I had shifted my ideal client from divorced moms to entrepreneurs struggling to make their businesses work and all of a sudden I didn’t feel like such an expert any more.

I started thinking that I had no value to add.

I wasn’t sure what the next “right” thing to do was.

Sound familiar?

It should. It’s not that different from what a lot of my clients believe, in one form or another.

The problem is that we think that there’s a “right” way to do everything. We forget that being an entrepreneur is a completely customized experience. Your business is one of a kind. It is a unicorn. And you are the CEO of that unicorn business.

There is no ONE RIGHT WAY to do business. Your business. Your decision. And when you do business YOUR way, instead of the “right” way, you build the business you want. You build a business that fits beautifully into your life.

Who else’s life would you want your business to fit into? Why would you want a business that fits someone else’s life?

The reason that I got off track is that I lost sight of my goal. My goal was to build a business I love that fits perfectly into a life I love. In order to do that, I have to decide what I love … in my life and in my business.

How do I love connecting with people?

How do I love spending the time in my business?

Who do I absolutely adore and love serving?

What does a business I love even look like?

No one except me can answer these questions when it comes to my life and my business. And the same is true for you.

The only “right” way is your way when it comes to your life and your business.

When you have a business you love that fits beautifully into a life you love, you will have a successful business in no time.

Let’s talk about what that looks like for you and get started building your dream business in the background of your dream life!
