I like how Hal Elrod’s book The Miracle Equation outlines a formula for creating miracles in your life. Unwavering Faith plus Extraordinary Effort = Miracles.
To put this into the context of coaching, the formula is your Beliefs lead to Emotions which lead to what you Do and how you do it which produces your Outcomes. Elrod’s Unwavering Faith is equivalent to Beliefs, his Extraordinary Effort equates to what you Do and how you do it, and his Miracles are the Outcomes.
But whatever formula you subscribe to, it comes down to what you believe. Everything comes from that. If you don’t have what you want, it’s because of what you’re committed to believing.
I really don’t know how anyone gets by without faith. Not having faith in God or faith in myself would be a complete game changer because living like things could fall apart at any time is a miserable way to live.
I know that I have been blessed with a lot in the second half of my life and people might think “Yeah, Jill, it’s easy for you to say that when you have a very comfortable life.” And that might very well be true. But I’d like to think that I could still have this attitude if I had nothing.
Anyone can have limitations — whether it’s financial, physical, intellectual, economical, you name it – but what’s really inspiring is when I see people with limitations embrace their possibilities instead!
If you want to be successful, whether in business or just in life, don’t wait for life to happen to you.
Instead, generate excitement for yourself around your possibilities. Inspire yourself to create MORE than you even imagined possible for you, just by believing that you can.
It doesn’t matter whether or not you know the how right now. What matters is that you’re willing to figure it out, no matter what it takes. That’s what creates success.
