Investing your resources with intention makes EVERYTHING possible.

My clients struggle with investing their time. It’s because they don’t think of it as an investment. They think of it as an expense. An investment gives you a return. An investment appreciates in value. But an expense does not create future value.

When you invest your time intentionally, nothing is wasted. Something good can always come of it.

Time is a mental construct, just like money. Some of my clients have such scarcity around time that they worry about wasting it. But what one person considers waste another might consider treasure.

What if … what you consider a “waste” could produce something magnificent?
How do you know that what you’re doing is not having an impact? You don’t always see where God is using you, where He is working.

What are you focused on today that could produce something magnificent later?

Notice where you focus is.
Notice what you’re investing in.
Notice what’s on your calendar.
Notice what’s on your credit or debit card statement.
Notice how you invest your physical energy.
Notice how you invest your mental energy.

Here’s an example.
Decide how you want to invest your time.
Decide how much time you want to invest in each area of your life and business based on your values and priorities.

If I’m feeling a little scattered and unfocused some days, what can I invest my time in to improve that?

I might decide I want to INVEST (not spend, since I’m increasing the future value of my time) 20 minutes each morning before I get to work generating the feeling of focused and throughout the day, I’ll spend 1-2 minutes every couple hours getting back into that focused energy by reconnecting with my body, reconnecting with my purpose, reconnecting with my mission, with who I’m becoming, or just feeling who I already am.

Maybe at the end of every day I decide to invest 5 minutes debriefing on how the day went.
I evaluate what went well, what didn’t go well, what I would do differently.

Your investment strategy doesn’t have to be complicated or take a lot of time in order for you to see a return on your investment. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or perfect. The goal is not to be perfect, but to be more intentional.

When worries and fear that have consumed your mental energy are given over to truth, your mind is free to produce what you want, what you value, what you want to grow and what you are meant for.
