Are you good enough to make it as an entrepreneur?

Do you have what it takes to make it in business?
Do you have the right DNA to succeed? Do you have the right characteristics?
Who are you?

That’s a trick question. There are so many possible answers.

Like ….
Who are you in as an entrepreneur?
Who do other people see you as?
How do you see yourself?
What do you believe about yourself?
Who are you at church? In your immediate family? With friends? With other moms?
Who are you at your core?

Part of the problem that I help my clients solve in their money mindset is who they are.

They come to me believing that they have to change who they are in order to make more money in their business.

They have to:

  • Get better at sales
  • Be more interesting
  • Act a certain way to attract paying clients
  • Look a certain way on Instagram
  • Be more outgoing
  • Filter their personality so they don’t turn people off
  • Talk less about their faith

I believe none of those things.

I believe being who you are is exactly what will help you make more money.

My identity has shifted from who I once was, but it didn’t come from changing who I am. It came from what I believe about myself, or more accurately, what I stopped believing about myself.

For example, here are some things I used to believe:

  • I’m just ordinary. I’m not interesting.
  • I don’t say much because I just don’t have much to say.
  • I just work better in the background. I wasn’t made to be front and center.
  • I can’t do that – I’m an introvert and I just don’t have it in me.
  • I can’t climb the corporate ladder, because I’m not good at the politics.
  • Money’s not really all that important to me. It’s not a huge motivator.
  • I don’t want to have more because that will just mean I have to sacrifice more and work is already my life.

All of those thoughts, and a whole lot more where those came from, limited me. I kept thinking that I couldn’t do big things because I wasn’t big enough. I wasn’t bold enough. I wasn’t strong enough.

I thought I accepted myself the way I was, but by accepting those lies, what I was actually doing was “settling” for who I thought I was. Who I thought I was wasn’t capable of more.

I didn’t give myself permission to chase more, because I thought the effort would be a waste. I thought I was locked in to what I had. I felt defeated and discouraged.

But I realized that what I considered my identity were all just thoughts.
And thoughts can be questioned.
So I started questioning them, one by one by one.
And they started to shift one by one by one.

When I accepted myself, other people started accepting me.
When I liked myself, other people started liking me.
When I showed up as me, other people showed up to work WITH me.

There are so many people in the world and you’re not trying to work with every single one of them. You can be fully you and there will be PLENTY of people that love you and want to work with you.

Who you are is NOT why you’re not making more money. Who you are is what WILL make you more money. And as soon as you accept who you are and question who you’re not, like I did, your identity will change, but YOU don’t have to change for that identity to shift.

There’s this identity shift that my clients go through where they become someone who:

  • Created a successful business
  • Made money in their business
  • Impacted people through their business
  • Feels confident, secure and strong in who they are

I want that for all coaches. That’s why I do what I do. Yes, I want to make money. I want my clients to make money. I want the coaching industry to make money.

But, ultimately, it’s not about the money. It’s about the power that you step into when you become that person. That doesn’t come from money.

What do you believe about yourself that is not who you are?
What parts of your identity do you need to question?
How will you step into your true power to impact the lives of the women you most want to work with?

That’s what will help you create MORE.
